Diplomas

    UCI diplomas

Diplomas are typically available four months after the end of the quarter in which the student graduated. Degrees are posted on official transcripts approximately six to seven weeks after the end of the quarter in which they are awarded. The degree award date is the last day of the graduating term, or for Summer Session, the last day of Summer Session II.

    • School of Medicine diplomas measure 11 inches high by 17 inches wide.

    Obtaining your diploma

亚博真人娱乐AppWhen diplomas are available, students will be notified via their UCI email address or alternate email address provided on their Application for Graduation. Once notified, you may:

To have your diploma mailed, complete and sign the applicable section of the Diploma Request Form, and send it to the Registrar's Office. Expedited mailing services are available for an extra fee.

Diplomas are sent via USPS certified mail to domestic addresses, or USPS registered mail to addresses outside the United States. Both services require a return receipt signature. You must provide a mailing address where your diploma may be signed for upon receipt.

亚博真人娱乐AppAll debts, with the exception of long-term financial aid loans, and/or financial holds must be cleared with Campus Billing Services before an official transcript or diploma may be released. Therefore, before leaving campus, graduating students should return all library materials, pay library fines, etc. Also, Financial Aid recipients are required to complete an exit interview before leaving campus.

    Payment Options

Payment of mailing fees for diplomas may be made via check or money order made payable to UC REGENTS.

Credit or debit cards are not accepted.

    Replacement diplomas

A replacement diploma may be requested if your original diploma has been lost or destroyed, or your name has changed since graduation.

To obtain a replacement diploma, complete and sign the applicable section of the Diploma Request Form, and send it with appropriate payment to the Central Cashier.

As of Summer 2008, all diplomas must reflect the exact name on your student records. If requesting a replacement diploma with a new name, you must return the original diploma and submit a Change of Name Petition with supporting documents to ensure that UCI records agree with your diploma. The petition is available at the Registrar's office. More information may be found on our Request a Change of Name on UCI Records page.

亚博真人娱乐AppThe fee for a replacement diploma is $22. An additional $25 mailing fee applies. The replacement diploma may be picked up in person at the Registrar's Office for no additional fee, however the $22 replacement fee still applies.

亚博真人娱乐AppIt will take four to six weeks to receive the replacement diploma. (Immediate verification of an awarded degree may be obtained by requesting an official transcript or verification letter from the Registrar's Office.)

亚博真人娱乐AppYour replacement diploma will bear the signatures of current state and University officials. A reissue date will be printed at the bottom of your diploma.

    MINORS, DOUBLE MAJORS, and Specializations

亚博真人娱乐AppMinors are not noted on diplomas. Minors are posted to academic transcripts.

Students with a double major within a single school will be awarded one degree and issued one diploma. The diploma will list both majors.

Students with a double major within a single school with different degree types will be awarded two separate diplomas. An example of different degree types would be a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.).

Students with a double major within two different schools will be awarded a degree from each school and will be issued a diploma from each school.

Specializations are not noted on diplomas. Specializations are posted to academic transcripts.

    Latin and Campuswide Honors

Undergraduates who have graduated with Latin or Campuswide Honors will have this noted on their diploma beneath the University Seal. Latin and Campuswide Honors will also be posted to academic transcripts.

Latin Honors are awarded by the undergraduate's dean or academic advising office.

Graduate students do not receive Latin Honors.

    Notarizing your diploma

Notarization is available for your diploma through the University Registrar Notary Service.

    More Information on Diplomas

Only one original diploma (per degree) is issued per student. The Registrar's Office does not retain a copy of your diploma. If an employer or institution requests a copy of your diploma, we can issue an official transcript or verification that will state your degree awarded and award date.

Diplomas that are not picked up or mailed to the student after ten years will be destroyed. If your diploma has been destroyed, a replacement diploma will be issued free of charge. Replacement of destroyed diplomas will take four to six weeks to receive and will bear a reissue date and the signatures of current state and University officials.
